Our Story

The Legend of SABE is a symbol of honesty and integrity. In the Seven Grandfather Teachings—core moral principles in Ojibwe culture—the SABE is associated with honesty (gwekwaadiziwin), representing self-awareness, truthfulness, and living with integrity.

Growing up on the Canadian prairies and hearing stories of the SABE from locals, we knew we wanted to build a brand rooted in those same principles. Values that stand tall, stay true, and hold up over time.

Founded by Chris and Rachel Utz, SABE Gear designs all of it's products in-house on the Canadian prairies, with a focus on quality, function, and timeless style that fits real life in Canada. From long, cold days outdoors to trusted everyday carry essentials, everything we make is designed to be used, relied on, and worn with pride.

Our focus is simple: to keep innovating and building a brand Canadians can trust—whether they’re working, traveling, or playing in our big, beautiful country.

Proudly designed and warehoused in Winnipeg, Manitoba, SABE Gear reflects our belief that great gear should be durable, practical, and unmistakably Canadian.
